How Is Our Whole Body MRI Better Than Our Competitors?

As more people are learning about Whole Body MRI screening, you may wonder how to choose where you should go when making this big investment in your health. This post is aimed at clarifying how our MRI at Longevity Santa Barbara is better than our competitors:

  1. Our scan includes a detailed noncontrast MRI of the head, neck, chest, abdomen, and pelvis (including prostate). This scan looks for any evidence of tumors, enlarged lymph nodes, abnormal fluid collections, kidney or bile stones, moderate-severe stenosis or other abnormalities of the spine, evidence of prior brain trauma or stroke, fatty liver, signs of an enlarged heart or aorta, and other organ abnormalities. Our protocols match our competitors, but we are able to constantly quality control our protocols as they are done on one scanner and therefore we have consistently high quality on all of our MRI scans.

  2. All of our scans are done at Pueblo Radiology in Santa Barbara on their newest MRI scanner. This is a wide bore 1.5 Tesla scanner. This way I know we generate the highest quality of images for our patients. Our competitors use many different imaging centers, so the quality of their images may differ based on the scanner they have.

  3. Our MRI images are read by a small group of Pueblo radiologists that I know personally. Any significant abnormalities seen on your MRI are being reviewed by one of their board-specialized radiologists, and if needed more than one radiologist may look at your scans. Your scan is being interpreted by highly trained radiologists here in Santa Barbara. Our competitors contract with many radiologists who may not have specialty training and who do not have a network of specialists to review your imaging with.

  4. A few days after the scan, I create a presentation of your images and review the findings with you over a detailed 45 minute consultation call. On this call, we will discuss your past medical history and any current concerns to your health. You will keep a copy of this presentation and your reports. Your primary doctor or family members are welcome to join this call as well. We uniquely provide you with an in-depth review call of your history and your data with a physician who will explain what your findings mean for you.

In summary, our Whole Body MRI offering gives you the guarantee of high quality images, reliable and highly trained radiologist interpretation, and a detailed review call where you see your images and understand your results on a deep level. I am very confident that our scanning is of the highest quality and is better than any competitor who uses many different imaging sites.
